Prophecy
Many are bewildered at recent events in the world. The news was full of a spreading ‘virus’ which virtually brought the whole world to a standstill. Now it is full of war between Iran and Israel, and Russia attacking Ukraine, nuclear weapons, global warming, droughts and floods, the rise in mass stabbings and shootings, strikes, food shortages, as well as the cost of living going through the roof with fuel and energy prices. There’s also been a rapid decline in morality: standards which were the bedrock of society for millennia, have recently been undermined and toppled. Many are very scared of the direction the world is going.
What is happening in the world right now is exactly as the Bible tells us it will be. So many specific prophecies written thousands of years ago are coming true in THIS GENERATION! Sadly, many who dismiss the Bible have not bothered to find out the evidence which proves that it is no ordinary book. Not wishy washy prophecies, which no one can really be sure have been fulfilled, but very specific ones relating to Russia, Iran, Israel, finance, morality and people control. You actually only have to watch the news to see the Bible coming to life!
From this observation it can be clearly seen that we are fast approaching what the Bible refers to as the ‘Tribulation’ period, which will begin with all true Christians being removed from the earth, in an event referred to as the ‘Rapture’ (explanation to follow). I’d like to share with you why I, and many millions of Christians around the world, believe this and so you can be prepared...
Why do I believe the Rapture is imminent? I’d like to briefly look at several reasons…
ISRAEL BECOMING A NATION AGAIN
The Israelites feature predominantly in the Old Testament, and are known as ‘God’s people’. Their becoming a nation again was thought to be impossible, as ever since 70AD, the Jews were scattered around the world and their land lay desolate like a desert. Yet in several passages in the Bible, clear prophecies were written that Israel would become a nation again, in a day, and that the land would become fruitful…
“And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered...” (Ezekiel 20:34)
“Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:...” (Ezekiel 37:21)
“Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion (Israel) travailed, she brought forth her children.” (Isaiah 66:8)
“...Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.” (Isaiah 27:6)
As unlikely as it was and despite much opposition, these prophecies were fulfilled. On 14th May 1948 Israel became a nation again, and their land has since become so productive that they are now one of the top exporters of fruit.
The significance of this event is great, as it has started a countdown to the fulfilment of all prophecy, as Jesus, seeming to refer to those who witness this event, said…
“Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” (Matthew 24:34)
A generation in God’s eyes seems to be 70-80 years…
"The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away." (Psalm 90:10)
So a child born in 1948 would be 74 years old now (in 2022) – if this is a right understanding, there’s not long left!
This is one example of hundreds of similar, very specific prophecies throughout the Bible. Many were fulfilled way back in the past, concerning the reign of particular kings or leaders and what they would do, which can be verified in history. At least 300 prophecies were about Jesus, giving detailed information about where he would live, what he would do and teach and how he would die. These have all been fulfilled – but what about since 1948, what other prophecies have or are being fulfilled?
MANY NATIONS WANTING TO DESTROY ISRAEL
Though it is such a small country, so much of the world’s attention is focused upon it!
“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” (Zechariah 12:2-3)
For decades, the nation of Israel has dominated the news. It certainly is a “burdensome stone”, with world leaders not knowing how to solve the Middle Eastern problems involving it. Those who have sought to bring some sort of resolution, have often tried to do so at some cost to Israel, such as loss of land, and have found themselves in trouble as a result.
At least ten times, immediately after America passed resolutions against Israel, violent storms have hit, causing great damage. For example, in 2005, President George Bush convinced Israel that it was necessary to remove all of the Jewish settlers out of Gaza and turn it over entirely to the Palestinians. The very last of the settlers were evacuated on 23rd August. On that precise day, a storm that would be given the name "Katrina" started forming over the Bahamas. The city of New Orleans still has not fully recovered from the damage that storm caused, and it ranked as the costliest natural disaster in all of U.S. history up to that time. God said concerning Israel, “I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee...” (Genesis 12:3).
Anti-Semitism has always been a problem, and is on the increase again. Many nations are indeed against the Jews, Muslim nations especially. Iran has vowed to destroy them and is very near to completing their first nuclear missile which they plan to use to obliterate Israel. Being well aware of this, Israel may well strike at Iran first to prevent their destruction. This may well spark off the following...
RUSSIA WILL SOON ATTACK ISRAEL
At war with Ukraine, soon Russia, and the countries it has, and will, form alliances with, will turn their attention on Israel. God says referring to these nations, and particularly their Russian leader…
"Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee. Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought (like he did re Ukraine): And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages (Israel);… To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land. (Then another group of nations will ask…) Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?" (Ezekiel 38:9-13)
It has been a mystery what Russia and it’s allies would want from Israel, but just recently a huge gas pocket has been discovered just off the coast of Israel – enough to supply all of Europe. That is obviously a threat to Russia’s income which it gets from all the gas it has been supplying to Europe for many years. Could that be why he attacks? We continue to read…
"And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog (Russia), before their eyes." (Ezekiel 38:15-16)
“Riding upon horses”, signifies that they mean war – armoured vehicles and tanks weren’t around when the Bible was written! “The latter days”, signifies the ‘end times’ towards the end of all prophecy – the days in which we are now living!
God then uses a curious phrase, “that the heathen may know me”, for something amazing will happen, “before their eyes.” When the attack occurs, God will miraculously intervene and protect his people, Israel. It will be obvious to all that the God of Israel is fighting for them. The unbelieving world will watch in amazement at what is happening before their eyes. We are told…
"And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel: And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD. And I will send a fire on Magog (Moscow), and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD." (Ezekiel 39:2-6)
So, as we have seen, Russia and it’s allies, will come “from the north parts”, and descend down to Israel. When that happens God will prevent whatever weapons they will be using (again, missiles and rockets and the like, were not around when the Bible was written) from working (perhaps they will fall out the sky – like an arrow falling out of their hand). Only a sixth part of those who attack will be left.
Although this battle hasn’t happened yet, we can see how the ‘stage is set’. Everything is in place for it to happen very soon! Iran may be the catalyst with their nuclear threat, as I’ve said. The rest of chapter 39 goes on to say some other very interesting things about people being specifically designated to bury the dead, and that people were only to ‘mark’ the place if they found a body or bone, and that weapons would be used as fuel for seven years – perhaps indicating that nuclear radioactivity / power is involved?
A COMING WORLD LEADER
"And I stood… and saw a beast rise up… and all the world wondered after the beast. ...and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months." (Revelation 13:1-5)
All the world will welcome the rise of this world leader, whom God refers to as a ‘beast’! To most he will appear as if he were the saviour of mankind – with answers to the difficult problems the world is facing – including the question, “Where have all the people gone?”. It would seem that He will only come to power after the ‘Rapture’ has taken place and Jesus has taken all true Christians to be safe with him. He may well say something along the lines of, “UFO’s have taken the bad people away.” (meaning those he knows will oppose his plans).
This person, whom the Bible also calls the ‘antichrist’, will set up a ‘New World Order’. That term has become familiar to many these days – some call it, ‘The Great Reset’. It is supposed to bring in a better way of living where everyone is equal and everyone is supposedly cared for and provided for. That sounds very much like communism! It may seem a good idea, but in practice a small elite band of leaders are in ultimate control, imposing huge restrictions on people’s freedom. Does that not already sound familiar to us??
THE RISE OF A CASHLESS SOCIETY
We can see for ourselves that the use of cash is dwindling. Most people these days prefer to pay with a card, or shop online and make direct payments. During the 'pandemic', many shops refused to accept cash for fear of transmitting covid, and many self checkouts no longer take cash. We can easily see therefore that we are entering into a cashless society – something which probably no-one would have believed before the rise of technology.
Many may have heard of the ‘Mark of the Beast’ or ‘666’, but perhaps not many understand what it stands for. Concerning the world leader, we read:
"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." (Revelation 13:16-18)
People have wondered about this mark for centuries, but only in our lifetime can we understand what it could be. Even now a kind of mark enabling people to pay for things is already in existence! Electronic chips implanted into the hands of people are already being experimented with. For several years chips have been implanted into dogs, with the details of their owners encoded onto them, and are now a legal requirement. Soon they will become common place in humans with much more information on them, and we are here clearly told that it will eventually become mandatory to receive one. The Bible is clear however – we are NOT to receive it at any cost – as to take it will be pledging allegiance to the antichrist and his system. Life will become extremely difficult without one though, as there will be no other way to buy or sell – hence cash will be a thing of the past!
SIGNS IN THE MOON AND STARS
"And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years…" (Genesis 1:14)
The sun, moon, planets and stars are not just there to give light on the earth and to govern the tide and seasons. They are there also to give signs – and a lot has been happening astronomically recently – and I’m not referring to astrology and the guesses of people who predict fortunes, but to astronomy, the study of stars! Observation of the stars caused the ‘wise men’ to realise that Jesus had been born, and similar recent observations show that we are near the time of Jesus’ return for his church…
"And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. ...and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, ...and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne." (Revelation 12:1-2,5)
Amazingly, this very specific arrangement of stars and planets took place 23rd September 2017. The constellation of Virgo was the woman, Leo was above her head with it’s 9 stars, along with Mercury, Venus and Mars (then known as ‘wondering stars’) making the twelve stars. The sun was over her shoulder, as if casting it’s rays over her body, and the moon was at her feet. Curiously, Jupiter, the child, appeared to enter the area of Virgo’s womb on 20th November 2016, and stayed there, travelling back and forth (known scientifically as ‘retrograde motion’, caused by elliptical orbits) for about 9 months, before exiting Virgo between her legs. As crazy as this sounds, it can all be verified using astronomical software on computers or the internet. Never before have all the aspects of the Revelation passage quoted above, been fulfilled. What’s more, it happened on a Jewish feast day called ‘Feast of Trumpets’ (significance explained later).
October 7th- 8th 2018 saw the fulfilment of the dragon picture, involving Venus and several constellations. Venus is known as the ‘bright, morning star’, a reference also given to Jesus. It conjoined with Jupiter (also associated with the church) on November 13th 2017. Venus then appeared to stop near where Jupiter had been ‘birthed’ and near the dragon’s head (which appeared red), and then it too began retrograde motion. Could this be representing Jesus coming for his church, saving it from the dragon?
These are things which only God can control and cannot be tampered with by man. Though they happened a few years ago now, it is still very recent considering how long ago this passage was written down, and still within our generation. There’s a lot more to this sign, and much more which could be added to this section, but to try and be concise, I can’t include them here!
Just a little aside though, which I find fascinating, and proves that God inspired the Bible: God asks Job…
"Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?" (Job 38:31)
These are constellations, which astronomers have recently found are opposite in respect of their gravitational effect on the stars within them. The stars which make up Pleiades (also know as ‘The 7 Sisters’), are close enough together to influence each other, binding them together. The stars in the ‘band’ or ‘belt’ of Orion however, though they may look fairly close to each other, aren’t. The one star especially, out of the 3 stars, is massively distant from the others, though we cannot easily detect that from Earth because of it’s orientation to us. If we were to go way off into space to look from another angle, we wouldn’t associate them together at all - they are loose from each other. Only God could have known that!
JEWISH FEASTS / FESTIVALS
God ordained 7 feasts (meaning ‘appointed times’ or ‘festival’ rather than food) for the Israelites to observe. Each one commemorated a specific, important event in their history. The spiritual aspect of each one can be aligned to later events which Jesus fulfilled or will fulfil. This in turn has a direct effect on his followers, the church.
Jesus has so far fulfilled the:
1. ‘Feast of Passover’ - Jesus died paying for our sins on the very day of the year when the priests sacrificed lambs as an offering – which is why Jesus was called the ‘Lamb of God’.
2. ‘Feast of Unleavened Bread’ (the next day) - throughout the Bible, leaven (yeast) is used to represent sin. Jesus had no sin within him, and said that he was the ‘Bread of life’. He was buried on this feast day, but death could not keep him...
3. ‘Feast of First Fruits’ (another 2 days later) - Jesus rose to life, the first to defeat death forever!
4. ‘Feast of Pentecost’ (50 days later) - Jesus returned to Heaven, and then at this time sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within all true believers.
The next feast which Jesus will one year fulfil, is the Jewish new year (different to ours), and is called the ‘Feast of Trumpets’ or ‘Rosh Hashana’. A trumpet (Shofar) is always blown when a new year comes. When the Rapture happens, we are told that Jesus will come to the air, with the sound of a trumpet!
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
According to the traditional calendar, no-one knew exactly when a new year started, as the months of a Jewish calendar start when the first sliver of a new moon is seen in Jerusalem. An extra day is added before the next month if it’s not seen, which further prevents us knowing exactly when Jesus will come!
The THIRD TEMPLE of GOD
The first two Jewish temples of God were destroyed; the last in 70AD when the Romans destroyed Israel and they became a scattered nation. A third has yet to be built. However we know that it will be! Concerning the coming antichrist, we read…
"And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (of years i.e. 7 years): and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease…" (Daniel 9:27)
These practices will only be reinstated when the Temple is rebuilt. We learn more about him…
"Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." (2Thes 2:4)
He will sit in the Temple pretending to be God!
For many years now the Jews have been preparing to construct a new Temple. Everything is ready for it to be assembled very quickly. The stones are prepared for its construction, and all the furniture and implements we read about in the previous temples have been manufactured and are ready. Priests have been readied and their garments made. There is a major problem causing a delay though: the temple is to be build on the same site as the previous temples, on the ‘Temple Mount’, which is currently occupied by the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aksa Mosque. Something however, which is not known yet, will happen to enable it to be built! Changes are happening in the right direction though, as up until only October last year, Jews were not even allowed to freely pray on the mount, but a court ruling has just changed that and they can now meet publicly for prayer.
CONCLUSION
So, to conclude, the Bible tells us that Jesus is coming again, but doesn’t say exactly when – which is just as well for lots of reasons! Instead we are told to ‘watch’ and are given signs to look out for, some of which I have given in this letter. You may have noticed that I’ve often used phrases like, “seems to be” or “many think”, because we are not meant to fully understand all the timing. We do know however, that very soon Jesus will come, first to the air for his church, and then later return to earth and stand on the Mount of Olives from where he will begin his Millennial reign. The people of earth will not see him when the Rapture happens, but everyone will see him when he returns. Though some of the signs happened years ago, they are still valid, as they tell us something is coming up, just like junction signs on motorways appear at least a mile beforehand, and then reminders come.
We are told that the 7 year ‘Tribulation’ period (a whole Shemitah cycle) will be split into two lots of 3½ years. During the first half the world leader will arise, bring in the ‘mark’, make a peace treaty with Israel and allow them to build their temple. Somehow he will seem to solve many of the world’s problems and many will consider him to be so wonderful that they even start to worship him! He will deceive people with false signs and wonders and portray himself as God! In the second half he will break the treaty he formed and turn against Israel, desecrating their temple.
During this time, God will finally start to vent his tremendous fury upon mankind because of their blatant rebellion, and stubborn refusal to follow his ways. His ways are for the good of mankind, yet the majority harden their hearts and do whatever they fancy, bringing in great perversion, depravity and suffering. Many plagues of all sorts will come upon the earth – especially during the last 3½ years – polluting the water and scorching the vegetation, bringing tremendous horror and trials to mankind. Creatures will afflict mankind and great storms and earthquakes will come. We’ve seen small warning signs recently but they’re nothing compared to what’s coming.
We are told of two ‘Witnesses’ whom God places on the earth. They, along with many Jewish people who finally realise that Jesus really was the true Messiah, will proclaim truth during this time, explaining what people should do. Many, when they realise that the Bible was true after all, will turn to God distraught that they did not do so earlier. They will have to resist the antichrist system and refuse to take the ‘mark’ at all costs – even of their very lives. We are told that many will be beheaded for their refusal, and for choosing to turn to Jesus. It’s interesting to note that that is a method of execution which is already predominant in some countries, and often used against Christians!
The Tribulation will be a horrendous time for all who are left behind, so I urge you to turn to Jesus before it’s too late. The Bible has proved itself true over and over again. It is obvious that God is there from creation around us. This world and everything on it couldn’t have come about by evolution and random chances – just look at the complexity of our own bodies. Just like a building has to have had a builder – even though we didn’t see him working – so must this world have had a Creator. Yes, we see disease and suffering upon it, but it wasn’t there at the start. Man’s sin and rebellion against God brought death and decay into the world.
There will come a time when each of us will stand before God – whether we believe in him or not – whether we go in the Rapture or not. The only hope we have is Jesus. None of us deserve Heaven – all of us have broken God’s commandments in some way. No amount of good works will change that fact. It’s only through God’s grace – his undeserved mercy and favour – that we have any hope.
I personally, became a Christian when I was 13 years old. A friend at school explained to me what the Gospel message of the Bible was – that we are sinners heading for hell, but that Jesus took the punishment for our sins on the cross, so that those who will turn to him and put their trust in him can be forgiven and saved for all eternity. He wrote out a prayer for me, simply thanking Jesus for dying for me, asking him to forgive me, and inviting him to come into my life. When I got home that night, I remember kneeling down by my bedside and praying that prayer. A peace entered my life at that moment which has never ever left me, and Jesus has made himself more and more real to me as the years have gone by. I know that I have a place in Heaven prepared for me – certainly not because I deserve it – but because I know God is faithful and keeps his promises and says, “...whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Acts 2:21)
I would encourage you to do the same. I may not be completely right in my understanding of all the topics above, but as it becomes more and more clear that things are not right with this world – so we know that time is fast running out. That is why I have written this, as I don’t want anyone I know being left behind to suffer the tribulation which is coming fast.
Call upon Jesus now while there’s still time, believing that he died even for you and longs for you to turn to him. The Bible simply says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved...” (Acts 16:31). To believe doesn't mean to just believe he existed, but it means to put your whole trust and faith in him. If you do that, he will help you step by step to know his will for your life. His desire for you is to bless you abundantly and to guide and help you through life. My wife and I (and millions of other Christians) can truly testify as to God's goodness and faithfulness to us, bringing us peace and blessings beyond measure. It's not always easy to be a Christian and many may mock, but forming an ever deepening relationship with Jesus, and knowing the assurance which he gives of a home in heaven, is worth it all.
So, what will your response be??? Hopefully you are already trusting Jesus. If so then I hope you take this letter as a challenge to all of us to live ever closer to him – for we will meet him soon!
There is so much more I could have written about, all showing that the Bible is indeed true from cover to cover. But hopefully this is sufficient. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you found it interesting and will act upon it. If you would like any more information please let me know!
